You've seen the headline a hundred times. It's designed to scare you, and it works.
Here's the calmer, truer version: a machine is unlikely to replace your whole job. But a person who is fluent with AI might do the parts of it that used to take you all afternoon — in twenty minutes. If two people apply for the same role and one of them works fluently with these tools, the choice gets easy.
That's the real shift. Not "human vs. machine." It's fluent vs. not-yet-fluent.
Why this is good news
Fluency is learnable. It isn't a talent you were born with or a degree you missed. It's a set of habits and workflows, and you can pick them up in weeks, not years — especially if someone shows you the path instead of leaving you to guess.
